Singapore based multinational company, Verita joins Anantara in signalling growing confidence in medical and wellness tourism within Thailand and around the world. Wellness tourism is currently worth around $639bn annually* and this is set to rise rapidly over the coming years

The project recognises increasing demand for personalised innovative travel and wellness offerings that go beyond traditional fitness and spa services. October 31, 2019

London, 4 October 2019 – Verita Healthcare Group (“Verita”), an integrated provider of preventative, personalised healthcare, has strategically invested in three digital healthcare businesses as part of its international expansion and consolidation strategy.

Each business provides a range of customisable tools aligned with Verita’s aim to help people take control of their health and wellbeing through providing a range of cost effective, personalised digitally-enabled solutions:

  • nBuddy is a chronic disease management (“CDM”) app focused on helping people with chronic illnesses – such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension – to manage and reverse their health issues. Its digital intervention programs, including expert nutritional and lifestyle advice and coaching, have been developed in Singapore to specifically cater for the huge Asia market.
  • CelliHealth is a digital health and wellness platform for employers and insurers, providing healthy lifestyle education, gamified challenges, activity tracking, and incentives for hitting healthy lifestyle and wellness goals.

The acquisitions underline Verita’s aim to be one of the world’s leading integrative healthcare companies. The announcement coincides with the recent establishment of the company’s European HQ in London, which will act as a strategic base alongside its US headquarters in Silicon Valley.

In line with its ambitions, Verita is building a world-leading, multi-faceted digital platform for mass transformational health. The three investments will be incorporated into the Verita Wisdom platform, which offers people a range of tools to enable the early detection, prevention, management and reversal of the chronic diseases that drive over 70% of all global deaths and healthcare spend.

Julian Andriesz, Founder, Verita Healthcare Group, commented:

“These targeted investments fit well with our long-term goal for Verita. We have a strong acquisition and partnership strategy which has seen Verita Wisdom grow quickly over the last 18 months. We plan to make more investments in the near future which will result in Verita Wisdom becoming the largest and best digital health platform in the world in terms of user base, services, geographical reach, proven outcomes and profitability.

“With each acquisition we look for a proposition that adds value to our clients, providing greater choice and smarter technology, as well the ability to integrate with our current services. With CelliHealth, nBuddy and Hanako we’ll be able to help more users take greater control of their health.

“The integration of these platforms under Verita Wisdom complements the Group’s other services, which include treatment and product manufacturing centres around the world, making proactive healthcare more accessible than ever.

Verita acquires award winning Timeblock®

September 17, 2019

Timeblock® named ‘Product of the Year’ at Global Health and Travel Awards

Singapore, 12 September 2019 – Verita Healthcare Group, a global provider of preventative, personalised healthcare and wellness clinics, has acquired a controlling position and global distribution rights for Timeblock®, a breakthrough supplement in age reversal.

Timeblock® is the culmination of 20 years of research by a group of leading scientists in Switzerland. What began originally as a research project into anti-cancer medicine evolved upon the discovery that several plants – out of the 118 species tested – also had remarkable anti-ageing properties.

Many years of testing and cultivation revealed that selected plants and grasses grown at ultra-high altitudes (over 1,500m) and in precise environmental conditions and locations, produced a nutritional density many thousand times higher than the same plants and seeds grown elsewhere. These intensified nutraceutical ingredients formed the basis of the Timeblock® supplement – and later, the unique skincare range.

A human clinical trial conducted by Vienna University in 2017 showed that the active ingredients in Timeblock®, when taken daily, reversed biological ageing markers on average by 17 percent over a six-month trial period (110 volunteers) – effectively turning the human ageing process on its head.

Julian Andriesz commented on the acquisition:

“The more we understood the Timeblock® product, the more we liked it and saw the potential to take ownership of the supply chain and invest in the company to take it global.

“We know Timeblock® works, the trials show it works, and it has huge potential to create a better quality of life and longevity for people globally. Now, more of our clients around the world will be able to access Timeblock® as we focus on market roll-outs in the US and Europe, with additional geographies planned in the coming months.”

Timeblock® was awarded ‘Product of the Year’ at the Global Health Asia Pacific Summit in Bangkok on the 6th of September. Held at the prestigious Anantara Siam Hotel, the awards featured leaders and change-makers in the field of health, disease prevention and anti-ageing medicine. Verita also won ‘Integrated Health Clinic of the Year, Asia Pacific’, in addition to bagging ‘Product of the Year’ for Timeblock®, its recent acquisition.

The ceremony marks the third year Verita has been crowned ‘Integrated Health Clinic of the Year’.

Verita CEO and Founder Julian Andriesz commented:

“We are obviously delighted that Verita has been awarded not one, but two awards, this year for our innovative global solution.

“Verita’s success is a culmination of decades of experience. Asia Pacific is a fast-growing region for us and winning these two awards validates all the hard work and tireless efforts of our researchers, scientists and doctors.

“At Verita, we never settle for second best and are passionate about providing customised, preventative healthcare, so that people can choose to live better, for longer. These awards reflect that Verita is the first choice for a new era of preventative medicine.”

About Timeblock
Timeblock began as a research project into cancer-prevention, and the analysis resulted in findings that identified several plants – out of the 118 species tested – as having remarkable anti-ageing properties.

These crops had been growing in high altitudes, and through experiments, our researchers realised that low CO2 level in the air, plus extreme temperature variability between day and night, are essential requirements for optimal herbal nutrients and microfauna to obtain perfect pH values. Therefore, we cultivate our ingredients under organic conditions at elevations of over 1,500m.

Clean and scientific, the Timeblock system is rich in plant-based, non-toxic ingredients. Our skin care range is paraben, SLS, fragrance and alcohol-free, and rigorously tested for safety and efficacy. The timeblock Day and Night capsules are Vegan, non-GMO, gluten and lactose free.

David Mayo moves from GetCraft to Verita Healthcare as group sales and marketing director

5 Sep 2019

Ad industry veteran David Mayo has joined the Singapore-based Verita Healthcare Group as group sales and marketing director. With this assignment, Mayo moves on from creative vendor marketplace GetCraft where he was recently appointed chief growth officer. Verita is a global provider of healthcare and wellness clinics, using MedTech, analytics and AI.

Speaking about his new assignment, Mayo told Mumbrella: “I’ve worked in advertising since I left University in London. I have enjoyed the golden age of London advertising and the golden age of Asian advertising over the last 25 years.

“I wanted to work in an industry that’s growing and which involves people making the world a better place. Verita is a very big company and we decided this role is necessary. I can’t think of a better time to do it. I will be working with grown ups, and probably will be able to learn something. I think it’s time to take a step up and this is a giant step up.”

While known mainly for his extensive experience in advertising across Ogilvy and WPP, a press release from Verita indicated that Mayo was no stranger to MedTech either.

The press note said: “Mayo has an extensive knowledge of the medtech sector. He currently serves as CMO and non-executive director of BetaMedTech, a Singapore-based healthcare development company backed by Singapore A-Star grants and funding. It has developed a technology that predicts and prevents the onset of pressure ulcers, a medical injury that costs the US Health Department $11 billion and the UK National Health Service £450 million a year.”

Mayo’s mandate will include ensuring that the core pillars of Verita Healthcare Group business – services, products and technology – are integrated and supported by strategic brand management, digital marketing and end-to-end sales systems.

Speaking about Mayo’s appointment, Verita Health Group chairman Julian Andriesz said: “Through our ‘incubate, innovate, integrate’ strategy, Verita’s growth is accelerating rapidly, with over 20 operating companies across four continents.

“In order to harness our full potential, we need agile minds, clear vision and bold strategies to ensure that we deliver the promise of fully integrative healthcare.

“David has proven his strength in these and several other critical areas early in his career and I am very pleased to have him join our senior management team in leading sales and marketing.”

Mayo added: “Disruption is everywhere but none more so than in the global health economy. The combination of increasing diseases, a growing population and a global healthcare system that is still focused on reactive sickness management instead of proactive healthcare, creates a perfect space for this disruption.

“The global healthcare market is predicted to grow to around $10 trillion by 2022 and it represents a significant proportion of global GDP, so it’s a good time to be disrupting rather than defending. With its global reach and strong leadership reputation, Verita is an exciting, challenging place to do that from.”

Speaking to Mumbrella about his decision to move on from GetCraft, Mayo said: “I had been working with GetCraft for quite a while. We did investor presentations that went pretty well and the company had asked me if I wanted to join.

“I said we would set up a Singapore hub since I didn’t want to be at the head office in Jakarta. We broke even in the first four months and I put the whole team together. It’s almost as if my work there is done.

They are up and running and in a good space. Companies like GetCraft are sitting on the edge of a huge opportunity. In creative agencies, 30% to 35% of the work force accounts for over 60% of the staff cost – that’s not a comfortable place to be.

“And so companies like GetCraft can help agencies become more efficient and help marketing clients move at the speed of consumer conversation.”

Mayo continues to have a stake in GetCraft and to have many non-executive roles. He said: “I will keep all that going since its important to be as useful as you can, to as many people without spreading yourself too thin.

“Verita will take up 110% of my time and the rest will be for everything else.”
